题目:A Century of Quantum Physics: Quantum Computing, Teleportation and Other Surprises
Brief Introduction of Professor Richard Jozsa FRS
Professor Richard Jozsa FRS is an Emeritus Leigh Trapnell Professor of Quantum Physics at the University of Cambridge and a Bye-Fellow of King's College, Cambridge. A pioneering founder of quantum information science, his groundbreaking contributions have fundamentally shaped the field. He is co-discoverer of quantum teleportation, a cornerstone of quantum communication, and with David Deutsch, he provided the first proof of an exponential speedup achievable by a quantum computer over classical counterparts—a foundational result that preceded Shor's factoring algorithm. His profound work also includes the development of the quantum source coding theorem and key insights into the role of entanglement in quantum computational speedup.
Professor Jozsa's exceptional research impact is evidenced by over 40,000 citations. His highly influential publications include the seminal teleportation paper and the Deutsch-Jozsa algorithm paper, both among the most cited in the field. His distinguished career has been recognized by numerous honours, including election as a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2019, the London Mathematical Society Naylor Prize in 2004, and the QCMC International Quantum Communication Award in 2004. In addition to his research, he has made significant contributions to academic leadership, founding the Quantum Computing group at the University of Bristol and heading the Cambridge Centre for Quantum Information and Foundations, while also dedicating himself to teaching and supervising the next generation of scientists.
