J.N. Reddy 现任美国德克萨斯农工大学机械系杰出教授、Regents教授、O’Donnell基金会四级讲座教授，是美国国家工程院、中国工程院、欧洲科学院等9院院士。J.N. Reddy教授是国际著名的计算力学和复合结构力学专家，是ISI 高被引学者，著有25部专著，发表期刊论文850余篇，开创的剪切变形理论（包括Reddy三阶板理论和Reddy层合理论）在学术界和工程界产生了重大影响。他曾获诸多荣誉和奖项，如美国机械工程师学会颁发的铁摩辛柯奖章（Timoshenko Medal，全球应用力学最高奖项）、美国土木工程师学会颁发的冯·卡门奖章（Theodore von Karman Medal）、美国计算力学学会颁发的冯·诺依曼奖章（John von Neumann Medal）、美国工程科学学会颁发的普拉格奖章（Prager Medal）、国际计算力学学会颁发的高斯牛顿奖章（Gauss-Newton Medal）等。
Brief Introduction of Professor J.N. Reddy
Dr. Reddy is a Distinguished Professor, Regents’ Professor, and the holder of the O’Donnell Foundation Chair IV in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. He is a member nine national academies, including the US National Academy of Engineering, and foreign fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Dr. Reddy, an ISI Highly Cited Researcher, is known for his significant contributions to the field of applied mechanics through the authorship of many textbooks (25) and journal papers (>850). His pioneering works on the development of shear deformation theories (that bear his name in the literature as the Reddy third-order plate theory and the Reddy layerwise theory) have had a major impact and have led to new research developments and applications. Dr. Reddy has received numerous honors and awards, such as the SP Timoshenko Medal from American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Theodore von Karman Medal from the American Society of Civil Engineers, the John von Neumann Medal from the U.S. Association of Computational Mechanics, the Prager Medal from the Society of Engineering Science, and the Gauss-Newton Medal from the International Association of Computational Mechanics.
